However the South Africa qualifies automatically as host for the World Cup 2010 and due to the presence of the two tournaments respective hosts, each competition has 52 teams. The CAF completing for 5 berths plus the host South Africa occupying a 6th berth.
The CAF FIFA World Cup 2010 qualified are South Africa (qualified automatically for being host), Ghana CAF Third Round Group D Winners on Sept 6, 2009, Côte d’Ivoire CAF Third Round Group E Winner on Oct. 10, 2009, Nigeria CAF Third Round Group B Winners on Nov. 14, 2009, Cameron CAF Third Round Group A Winners on Nov. 14, 2009 and Algeria CAF Third Round Group C Winners on Nov. 18, 2009.

The 1st round 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification process were five knockout ties involving the 10 lowest position African countries based on FIFA ranking as of July 2007 and the winners advanced to the 2nd round. Unfortunately, because of others team withdrew and some issues only three were survived.
The 2nd round 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification process with 48 nations qualifiers including the 3 winners of the first round. The qualifiers divided into 12 groups and teams in each group played a home and away round-robin in 2008. Only 12 winners in each groups advanced in the 3rd round plus 8 top runners-up.
The 3rd and the final round to qualifies in 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification. The 20 nations remaining were divided into 5 groups of 4. The five groups winners play to the World Cup Finals in South Africa along with host.
